WHERE OUR WINES ARE BORN
OUR PRESENCE ON THE TERRITORY. The wine of the heroic hills: hundreds of millions of years ago, the area was open sea and its ocean floor was subject to a powerful tectonic sedimentary succession thus transforming the soils of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene district. Today’s rich diversity of soil is the result of the different layers of elements which were deposited on the ocean floor which, together with the different microclimates of each area, creates a rich and cherished array of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines.
Alabastro
DOCG Superiore di Cartizze is produced with grapes harvested in the area of the same name where the soil has a high content of yellowish-coloured limestone. The roots run deep, but are limited by the compact limestone which also limits water supply. The wines produced in this area have scents of white flowers, rose, peach, pear, apricot and almond and great aromatic and organoleptic depth and a slightly bitter aftertaste.
Guia
The soil is composed of grey-ash calcareous marl with a clay-like texture which provides a constant water supply and abundant minerals. However, the roots don’t grow in depth and form two levels, a superficial one for mineral absorption and a deeper one for water absorption. The grapes produce a wine that is fresh, fragrant and harmonious and have delicate, slender body with scents of flowers, peach, apple and citrus. Clorofilla- DOCG Extra Brut Rive di Guia is produced with the grapes harvested in this region.
TERRITORY
The Conegliano & Feletti area
Instead is characterised by red clay soil with low limestone content and acidy enough to favour the absorption of microelements.
This soil absorbs water well resulting in roots that run deep giving the wine a good structure, freshness, balance and hints of fresh fruit with notes of Mediterranean spices. The grapes used to produce Estate Indiana – DOCG Dry Rive di Collabrigo Costa, Curcuma – DOCG Extra Dry and Fior di Sale, DOCG Brut are cultivated in this area.
In 2019 the Conegliano Valdobbiaene Prosecco hills were awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status. This territory represents a uniquely valuable, cultural landscape shaped by manual labour and its ancient sparkling wine tradition.
